内容简介：
为满足全国中等职业技术学校英语教学的需要，我们于1994年推出了技术学校饭店服务专业教改教材《饭店英语》。该书自出版发行以来，受到了广大中职师生的普遍好评。但是，随着饭店服务业的迅速发展，新的服务理念、规范、方法不断涌现，对饭店服务专业的英语课教学提出了新的要求。为此，我们对《饭店英语》进行了修订。
为了与其他专业的英语教材相统一，便于学校选用，修订后的《饭店英语》更名为：全国中等职业技术学校饭店服务专业教材《英语》。
在内容安排上，本教材兼顾了英语的一般知识点、语言点、基础语法、常用词汇、日常会话等以及与饭店服务专业密切相关的实用的专业词汇、专业用语，既为学生的后续英语学习打下基础，又突出了职业教育特色。
在选材上，本书在版《饭店英语》的基础上作了较大调整，特别是对话部分，教材依据饭店各部门、岗位对从业人员的英语要求，完全按照饭店服务的实际情景设计对话内容，因而更加实用。
在结构安排上，本教材分为四个部分：前台服务英语、餐饮服务英语、客房服务英语和其他服务英语。全书共计26个单元，每单元均包括情景对话、短文阅读、词汇、注释、语法知识和练习。
本教材配有习题册和教学参考书。教学参考书附光盘，其中有对话、课文、生词等朗读示范。
